Bengali Actress Arrested For Alleged Pickpocketing At International Kolkata Book Fair

Kolkata: Popular Bengali actress Rupa Dutta has landed herself in trouble as she has been arrested on charges of pickpocketing at the International Kolkata Book Fair 2022.

According to reports, Rupa was arrested by the Bidhan Nagar police on Saturday evening.

The reports claimed that while patrolling at the book fair, a police officer saw a woman throwing a bag in the dustbin, following which, the police officer got suspicious and immediately started questioning.

During the interrogation and searching of the woman, several more purses were found from her bag along with Rs 75 thousand from the woman. As per the Police, the woman is an actress who works in Bengali films named Rupa Dutta.

The woman was brought to the police station and during interrogation here, she confessed her wrongdoings. Further, She also revealed that she has attended many fairs and events, where she went to crowded places and stole people's purses.

The said incident has shocked people as no one understands how and why she got involved in such things.

Roopa, who has been a part of many films and TV serials, had once accused Hindi filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of sexual harassment.
